With a background of 30 plus years of design and engineering for the automotive tooling industry and a hobby of woodworking, I was inspired to make a wood gear clock after reading an article about early american settlers carving their own wood gears to make clocks. Working with my wife, I have turned my interest and my passion into our venture and passion - making beautiful and unique handmade time pieces for our clients.
What we use is live edge wood, drift wood, standard lumber (hardwoods and exotic woods). Almost any wood can be made into a clock if it is properly dried and treated. Also, glass, metal, stone and a variety of other mediums can be incorporated to enhance the design.
We receive inspiration from the beautiful and ever changing scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains. Our love of wood and time pieces and the challenge of creating a one-of-a-kind piece that people will cherish for ever motivates us each and every day.
